Accomplishments: Since we laid down the foundation of Blessing Wave Inc in March 2005, we have been committed to sharing the Lord's blessings through the of means of education and healthcare. To fulfill that vision and passion, Blessing Wave has focused on a giving back program and devoted all the resources to support that cause. As we celebrate 12 years, the association is proud of the many accomplishments we have been able to achieve in our target community.
-School Scholarship Program: The lack of education creates a high illiteracy rate in the country. When we initiated the program a few years ago, Blessing Wave was only able to provide a scholarship to three nursing students. Looking back, we know that more Haitian students could have benefitted from this program and we lament that our resources were so limited. Today, there are over 20 students sponsored by the Blessing Wave, and we are hoping to double that amount within the next few years. We are committed to helping our young people succeed and equipping them for a better tomorrow.
-Healthcare Program: Haiti has the lowest health status in the Hemisphere. Blessing Wave is committed to building a resilient and healthy community through the provision of quality healthcare for the people we serve. Since the earthquake, Blessing Wave has been committed to organizing three annual mission trips to Haiti to providing free consultation and a three-month medication supply for those who suffer from chronic illness (sexually transmitted diseases, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, tuberculosis, etc.). Blessing Wave also aims to provide vaccinations, screening tests for cancer (prostate, breast, and cervical), along with education and management for ongoing care needed for people living with a long-term illness. We praise Lord for all who volunteer their time, money, and skills to fulfill these incredible challenges.
-Community Services: Working with Vieux Bourg 2014, The Blessing Wave is participating in a reforestation project in Vieux Bourg d'Aquin. Lecture and conference are given to the schools and churches in the community. With our partner, The Baptist Mission in the South of Haiti, we hope to proclaim the Gospel to the people we serve. Blessing Wave also assists the executive committee of the Baptist Mission by providing basic healthcare to the Preachers and their family members.
-Plans for Future: Over the next decade, Blessing Wave is praying that we will be able to erect a community clinic that will potentially provide a sustainable long-term healthcare solution for the city of Vieux Bourg d'Aquin. We hope to launch that community program soon, and we hope that its presence will make healthcare accessible to the community at least five days a week. Our vision is to create a 20-bed hospital with well-equipped emergency services, an operating room, an onsite Lab, an X-Ray unit, and a pharmacy. Blessing Wave also hopes to build an orphanage that can not only remove some of the homeless children off the streets but also provide a school lunch program that will serve about 100 meals a day at 3 schools. Finally, Blessing Wave will share the Gospel by assisting and promoting all the Baptist Mission's great events. We are blessed and our thanks to all our funders, members, supporters for making an eternal difference in the lives of so many people. We welcome contributions at all levels to help support our future plans. Your contributions will help us increase our abilities to make an impact, and reach more and more people. To God be the glory.
