With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Doctor Seth Lesperance founded this organization with a group of people who shared the same ideology. To be exact, the idea of the Blessing Wave nothing new. In 1987, a sample of the Association of the Pastors’ children of the Evangelical Baptist Mission South of Haiti attempted to reunite under the emblem of the Foundation Jethro Julien. The objective of this entity was to make a difference in the field of healthcare and education of the smallest percentage that was in the Southern part of Haiti. However, the leaders of the Association did not see in the foundation so great a future and, as a result, things did not move as they should. Nevertheless, by taking some leaps of faith eleven professionals were birthed. Among them, there were doctors, civil engineers, nurses and others.
But where does this name come from: Blessing Wave ?
After consulting with many friends, some suggestions were made as to how to name the Association. We have given attentive ears to the choices, however the testimony of the Lesperance family in Costa Rica has led us to embrace this title “Blessing Wave.” Please read the epopee:
My wife Myrielle and I, (Seth), left Haiti in 1989 with the goal of becoming doctors. With this in mind, we knew that the next five years attending medical school would not be an easy financial road. Almost upon arrival, even before the end of our first week in Costa Rica, we were deprived of our mere material possessions. Well, a good day, some thief invited himself into our humble apartment and left with his hands full. The day following the robbery, there we were, completely puzzled, not knowing what to do. We were asking ourselves many questions without finding a feasible explanation to such a disaster. Where was God when that intruder came? Immediately, we relied on Psalm 121 that promised us that God never slumbers nor sleeps.
Once our checkbook was taken away, we called a friend living in the United States to close our bank account to prevent further damages. However, our friend did not keep our “bad news quiet”. It didn’t take long before many heard about our mishap quite simply to be touched and to come to our rescue. Consequently, a physician we met years ago, after being informed about our misfortune, decided to show an unforgettable faithfulness to us during our years of studies in Costa Rica. What can we say about these things ? “Papa-m range-l konsa” (My Dad fixed it like that). While we were victims of such a Tsunami on a foreign land, some good Samaritans came to push us toward the shore. That was a Blessing Wave.
Blessing Wave is calling today to petition on behalf of those who don’t have access to education and healthcare. The ultimate purpose is to ring the bell and alert all of those who are blessed by God to join this noble cause.
“We are so blessed that we are compelled to bless others.” - Seth Lesperance
With this we are inviting you to explore our website and be familiar with what we do. Through God's guidance and the financial support of our supporters, Blessing Wave aims at the finalization of daring and ambitious projects in the area of education and healthcare with the sole goal that the name of Jesus be exalted. We take this time to thank and bless all those who have donated their time and money to think, plan, dream and execute some significant projects with us. We have seen a lot of dreams come true and we know that the best is yet to come.
